SOKOL Drilling motors and tools has been engineering and developing positive-displacement motors for use in today’s most complex and challenging drilling conditions for about 10 years. A mud motor (or drilling motor) is placed in the drill string to provide additional power to the bit while drilling. Drilling fluid is used to create eccentric motion in the power section of the motor which is transferred as concentric power to the drill bit. The mud motor uses different rotor and stator configurations to provide optimum performance for the desired drilling operation, typically increasing the number of lobes and length of power assembly for greater horsepower.
With available sizes ranging from 111/16" to 95/8", SOKOL has the mud motor to fit a customer's specific needs. Power sections are available in a wide range of speeds and have Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) for standard requirements and also Hard Rubber (HR) for higher torque requirements. Stators with Oil-Resistant Elastomer (S) are recommended for oil-base muds while High-Temperature Elastomer (T) stator can be utilized at temperatures up to 180°C.
SOKOL`s Mud Motors are designed with a mud lubricated bearing assembly, which equipped with radial bearings comprised of tungsten carbide as well as a high precision, bi-directional angular contact bearing pack which is machined from the highest quality tool steel, that gives a uniform load distribution and high weight on bit capacity. Motor can be used with optional near bit stabilizer and equipped with 0 – 3° adjustable bend housing or fixed bent housing.
SOKOL has a full fleet of mud motors which can be used in horizontal, vertical and directional applications. Our motors are designed to withstand the harshest of downhole drilling conditions, combining optimum performance, extreme reliability and cost-effectiveness.
